Volunteers!!!
We couldn't succeed without you! The Tri-State Zoo is a non-profit organization which means we rely greatly on our dedicated volunteers. While we do not require knowledge of animals we do require a love of them. All volunteers must treat the animals and staff with respect and follow directions and rules carefully, this if for the animal’s safety as well as your own. We have many volunteer opportunities available at the zoo for you. Call us or stop by and talk with one of our zookeepers for more information. We require all of our volunteers to be at least 16 years old and all volunteers must sign a liability waiver (if you are under 18, a parent must sign for you). Some of the volunteer duties we have include: painting, mowing grass, moving debris, unloading food and supplies, assisting with food prep, field animal grooming, building and repairing enclosures, fences and buildings, and cleaning, lots and lots of cleaning. Please come prepared for this; wear old clothing and work boots or old shoes. Be prepared to get dirty. It’s definitely not a glamorous job, but it is one that you will find very rewarding. You will have limited, supervised interaction with some of the animals and you will grow to love them like family. So stop by or call today for more information. We welcome you to our family of volunteers!
*** The Tri-State Zoo reserves the right to dismiss any volunteer at the owner’s sole discretion for failure to perform their assigned duties, follow rules and policies or mistreatment of the animals or staff members. ***
